Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need for an FAW First Aider this three day qualification meets an employers legal obligations and is compliant with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982 and the Resuscitation Council (UK) 2021 Guidelines. This is a 3 year qualification.
The learner will attain knowledge and the practical competence required to deal with comprehensive range of workplace first aid situations including:
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
- Seizures & Stroke
- Burns & Scalds
- Poisoning
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Head injuries
- Resuscitation & AED

Certification
Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day along with a written assessment. A Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner subject to successful assessment.
